v1.7 Farmduino
The v1.7 Farmduino board features an Arduino MEGA 2560 microcontroller that interfaces with the Raspberry Pi and stepper drivers, and controls the UTM and peripherals. The board also features an STM32 co-processor to process the encoder signals at high speed. The board has a layout and connectors that are optimized for FarmBot's various peripherals and motor requirements. It comes with five integrated Trinamic TMC2130 stepper drivers, a replaceable blade fuse, and current-sensing peripheral circuitry.
There is also an extra motor driver with stall detection circuitry to power the Rotary Tool included with all v1.7 kits. Additionally, the design implements protected earth grounding for the Vacuum Pump, UTM, and Input Power.
The v1.7 Farmduino board can be an upgrade for a v1.4 or v1.5 board. However, the power input and peripheral connectors have been changed, and you will need to modify your cables accordingly or purchase new compatible cables.
Because it runs on 24V, this board cannot be used as a drop-in upgrade for v1.2 or v1.3 kits which run on 12V.
