Today we deployed a new version of the FarmBot web app. Here’s what’s new:

Consolidation into the farm designer is now complete

Much earlier this year we began a big project to consolidate the entire app experience into the farm designer page so that you never lose context of the physical FarmBot no matter what you were working on.

With today’s release, the consolidation is complete. You’ll now find all of the major pages of the app available as panels on the farm designer page, as well as a refreshed main navigation.

Looking for the full-screen sequence editing experience? You can still access it by clicking the FULL EDITOR button in the top right of the edit sequence panel!

Filter map photos date forward/back

New < and > buttons beside DATE in the filter map photos menu allow you to advance the date filters one day at a time in either direction with the click of a button. This is useful for seeing how your garden changes day by day.

Factory reset is now soft reset

When helping customers troubleshoot software issues, we’ve seen that the term “factory reset” has the tendency to trick customers into thinking that that process will have the same result as reflashing the microSD card with a fresh .img file. That was a fair assumption on our customers’ part and so we decided to rename the process and update the documentation to better reflect what actually happens. Thus, “factory reset” is now referred to as “soft reset”, while reflashing the microSD card will be referred to as a “hard reset”.

Other changes

  • The seeded sequences when creating a new web app account have been updated to use the new MOVE command.
  • We made an error in the initial release of the new MOVE command where you could select slots instead of tools. This has been fixed in the app and FBOS v11.0.1
  • In discovering the bug above, we realized another issue was that tool slots on new account were being erroneously named after the tool that was initially loaded in that slot. New slots will now be named correctly, and we have corrected existing slot names in the database.
  • The tool slot form will now correctly discard changes that the API rejects.
